can we use the SSL certificate that we have on the sun LDAP on windows also

Currently we are having the sunone LDAP 5.2 SP5 in MMR on windows 2000 OS with SSL Certificate.

now , I added the new sunone LDAP 5.2SP5 on Solaris 10 with out SSL.

I want to add this new solaris into cluster with SSL.

my question is can we use the SSL certificate which is used for LDAP on windows, same SSL for the LDAP on Solaris 10?

Thanks in advance

Anand

This is do-able.

You will want to export the certificate from the directory server cert db on the Windows machine to a platform-neutral format (ACSII), and then import it to the cert db on the Solaris machine.

I don't know the precise commands to do this off the top of my head... but Sun Directory Server uses the Mozilla NSS toolkit for SSL. Commands like 'certutil' will be useful.

Try some www searches with terms like "certutil export SSL certificate cert8.db"
