How to write custom adapter for Ubuntu Linux system

Hello can any one guide me how to write the custom adapter for the ubuntu linux system. I am using IDM 7.1 version and more over i need to get connection for the ubuntu(linux system) and retrieves the user/group etc etc and to make work.

You won't need to build a custom adapter. Out of the box Linux adapter should work great, with a minor amount of tweaking.

If the usual Linux adapter won't to the job, use the shell script adapter where you have full control over the scripts used, without any programing (except for the shell scripts that is).
