hi! i am planning to develop an application which finds the live hosts on a local area network and then lists the shared folders on each machine. basically i want to search for files and folders on lanplzzz.... help

So what do we read from your original post. You want us to help you to develop a program BUT what sort of help do you want? You don't say " I have so and so problem". You don't say "Please give me the code?".
What sort of help do you need?
