SunBlade 1000 Upgrading Disk to 146 or 300GB Fiber Channel Disk

I presently have a 36GB Seagate Cheetah fibre channel drive and would like to add a larger drive. Would a Seagate Cheetah 146 GB ST3146707FC or Seagate Cheetah 300GB ST3300007FC fibre channel drive work in my system. When I looked at what resellers were offering, the largest they had was a 73 GB fibre channel drive. Is that because the larger drives are not compatible? I found some good prices on e-bay but they are not returnable so I have to be sure. Thanks to anyone who could offer some advice.

Hello,

the Blade 1000 went EOL in September 2002, therefore the Full Components isn't updated.

The larger disks should work, but aren't supported by Sun.

Please keep in mind that a Spud Bracket and Barrier Plate (340-6640, 340-7269 or 341-1986 with screw notches at the connector side) are required too.

Thanks for the info MAALATFT. Looks like I'll get a larger disk and give it a try.
