Windows Connector Performance problems

Recently I downloaded and installed the new Sunray 4u2 beta software on our sunray server. I was prompted to make the move to a beta to try and resolve a problem with the screen refresh rates when using the windows connector.

When we use it to talk to a windows terminal servers it comes up quickly, and runs well, except when i try to view a powerpoint presentation, open a pdf file, or browse web pages that have fading effects. Then it's horrible, in these cases the screen refreshs in rows of big black blocks. If I open the same files or browse the same sites in via the thin client with JDS the refresh rate is great.

However, I have noticed that once I flip through an entire powerpoint presentation, it's much faster the second time, as though there were some queuing going on.

I have tried tuning the MTU but it didn't help. Is anyone using the connector to talk to windows terminal servers and getting good to excellent performance?

If so, what kind of tuning did you do, and would you be willing to share what your environment looks like? Thanks!

Is anyone getting good to excellent performance using the windows connector to display a windows terminal server. Especially when viewing full screen powerpoint presentations and other graphical type docs (.pdf for example)?

If so, what does your terminal server setup look like and what kind of tuning have you done?

Thanks!

We got a x4200 from Sun via their try and buy program. We loaded Win 2003 and connected to it via the windows connector. Now everything is nearly as fast as having a regular pc at our desktop. I didn't do any special tuning to the terminal server.
