NCSM and Kiosk mode for DTU's
I downloaded and installed the Sunray 4u2 server software and it indicates that it can set DTU's in Kiosk mode now, not just per smartcard. This would be a good feature in our environment, since we use NSCM. However, I can't find a way to set a single DTU in to a Kiosk mode this without putting all of them in it. I would like one to display the window login via the connector all of the time. Any ideas or can someone point me to some good directions? Thanks!

I don't know the specifics of how to setup the Windows connector, but to change kiosk mode for only one DTU, start by going to the web admin interface. Click on the Tokens tab. Assuming you haven't registered any (as usually you don't need to), where it says "Registered Tokens" in the drop down box, click on "Currently Used Tokens" and run the search. Find the entry that corresponds to the DTU, and click on it. Then as it says, click edit to register the token. You have to enter something for Owner and/or Other info. Obviously it should be enabled. Then in the advanced: session type, pick Kiosk. I think you can figure out the rest.

Thanks for the information. That is exactly what we have done, and we have configured the Kiosk mode to use the Windows connector. Then after setting the token we restarted the DTU with the ctrl-sleep buttons. When it came back up, I still have the solaris login.
My expectation is that one certain DTU's deployed across our campus I will be able to have some always go right to a windows login via the connector and Kiosk mode. This will be of value to certain customers who don't have unix accounts.
I'm sure that I'm missing something simple, so if anyone has further ideas, or instructions I would be really grateful.

Everything is working now. We loaded some Solaris recommended patches, including a kernel patch and then rebooted the system. After the boot the DTU's that we'd set to Kiosk mode came up ful-screen windows. Also we could add new DTU's to Kiosk mode per the above directions, and after power cycling the DTU it came up full-screen windows. Thanks for the help.

I have figured out our problem. After we loaded the patches and rebooted the utpolicy changed to disable NSCM. We noticed then when we hit shift-pause and instead of disconnecting it just cut over to the screensaver. When I re-enabled non-smart card mobility with the ./utpolicy -M the DTU's that we had set to go into Kiosk mode (full screen windows) no longer worked, they had the gnome login. When I reran the ./utpolicy without the -M to disable NSCM the Kiosk mode for specific DTU's starting working again.
My conclusion is that NSCM and Kiosk mode by specific DTU's is incompatible.
Can someone at Sun confirm this?
