I'm having the same problem! I've found that, in the "es-common.sh" script, this error is related to the fact that the install process is looking for this directory presence:

/opt/SUNWsymon/base/bin/i386-sun-solaris2.10

It is there on the system, so it could be OK... ...now I just wonder if it could be because we run under Nevada (build #64), which should be Solaris 11 (2.11), and not 2.10...

I'll try to make a symlink, or something like that, and see if it brings me further on the install, and I'll post my result here.

We'll have to find it somewhere else... That doesn't work. But it was worth a try.Anymore idea?

I think you should be able to get it working.

Before SunMC officially supported Solaris 10 we were able to install the Solaris 9 version with about a half-dozen symlinks, and it worked fine. I don't have the script in front of me, but it required 2-3 symlinks into the disk1/disk2 install for es-inst to work.... then after it finished you needed 2-3 more symlinks under /opt/SUNWsymon for es-setup to run.

Could it be possible to have a clue on the symlinks needed, Mike-Kirk? Sounds pretty close from a resolution! ;)
