Unable to Login to StorEdge 6320 on port 9443

We recently update the kernel of our Solaris 9 Service Processor using the latest Solaris 9 cluster patch. We also updated the service processor with the following patches or higher:

112233-12SunOS 5.9: Kernel Patch

113225-08Timezone commands and zoneinfo database update Patch

112874-37SunOS 5.9: libc patch

113193-09PatchPro patch

Now we are unable to login to our StorEdge 6320 web GUI via https://sp0:9443. The web GUI appears but when we try to login, it gives the error message:

Error: Service process not responding

We can login via https://sp0:7443.

init.se6000 shows the following:

[sp0]# /etc/init.d/init.se6000 status

WBEM Service Is Running

Tomcat httpd Service Is Running

We also noticed that one of our network interfaces is running at 100 Half-Duplex but since we're able to connect to port 7443 just fine, we're not sure if this is really a speed or duplex issue.

We also checked our Login/User Roles to ensure that our users (i.e. storage, admin, etc.) still had their permissios and settings.

Any ideas as to what process may not be running that would keep us from logging in? We performed a netstat -an and port 9443 is listening.

Were the patches part of a 6320 update or applied in isolation?

Have you raised a service call?

The array SP should be considered a "black box" in terms of OS and should only be updated with patches supplied as part of an official release. Installing patches outwith the SP update is not supported.

In terms of your half-duplex interface, the firewall runs at half-duplex so this is to be expected.

It may be worth power-cycling your SPAT to restart the firewall and keep your fingers crossed. If this doesn't work, you may have to try reversing the patches applied.

If that doesn't work, you'll probably have to reload the array from a recovery CD - this is not an option to be taken lightly of course!

Thank you for your suggestions. The solution was to backout the latest WBEM patch (112945-45) and reboot the server. The command /usr/local/bin/t4_rnid_cfg was not able to run using the new WBEM patch but afterwards it worked fine and we were able to proceed with logging into port 9443.

Also you are correct about the firewall running at half-duplex so we left that part alone as well.

Thank you for your help.
