Solaris 10 x86 installation

Hello all,

I'm a bit disapointed, I've just achieve Solaris 10 x86 u3 HW 11/06 installation on my new Dell Precision M90 successfully from the DVD and it does not boot, I can only boot in Solaris Failsafe.

Using "kernel /platform/i86pc/multiboot -kd" option, and ":c" command in the kmdb, the boot process stop like this :

- --

...

fffffffffbc459c0 unix:_start+95 ()

panic: entering debugger (no dump device, continue to reboot)

loaded modules: [ uppc unix krtld genunix specfs pcplusmp ]

kmdb: target stopped at:

kaif_enter+8:popfq

[0]>

- --

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance.

Did it boot at least for the first time?

Did you make some special settings during installation?

What configuration of your computer? Are you sure that you downloaded x86 and not 64x86 (or amd64)?

There is an image of disc on Solaris 10 download page, that checks is Solaris 10 can be installed on your computer. Download it and burn on CD, when boot, it will let you know if your hardware is compatable with Solaris 10.
