Sun Studio 12 in snv_64a?

I just installed the new Solaris Express Developer's (snv_64a), or basically I did a live upgrade from snv_55b, and I'm still seeing Sun Studio 11, and not Sun Studio 12. Has anyone seen this? Sun Studio 12 is supposed to be in snv_64a, correct?Thanks,David

I did a clean install of Solaris Developer Edition 05/07 and it does have Sun Studio 12 which is a significant improvement over Sun Studio 11. I think the reason your machine has Sun Studio11 on it, is the fact that you did a live upgrade from the earlier Developer Edition. Sun Studio 12 will not install if there is another version of Sun Studio installed. I tried installing Sun Studio 12 on a stock Solaris 10 system with Sun Studio 11 already installed, and the installer for Sun Studio 12 complained that another version of Sun Studio was present and it could not continue.

Yes, you are correct. I eventually dug around the install DVD and found the readme about the Developer Tools and it did indicate that if Studio 11 is installed already it must be removed before installing version 12.Thanks for your help.Daviddwsmith@llnl.gova at 2007-7-12 20:10:04 >
