Need help in installing solaris 10.
I have 4 cd set of solaris 10. I have an 80 GB hard disk with four partitions(NTFS). My current o/s is xp. Do i need to do any partitions in my hard disk before starting the installation? (I mean deleting any logical drive).
Previously i tried installing by removing the logical drive for a partition(making it free space). But at the time of installation it is selecting the whole hard disk for installing solaris.

Hi,
more data is needed. What did you use to resize or partition the rest of the hdd? You state you have four NTFS partitions, to the best of my knowledge Solaris will only install upon a primary partition; you have them all used up.
Which Solaris are you wanting to use? I would suggest downloading the latest Solaris Express Developers Edition and going from there. Have you ever used gpartiton? If not, it would behove you to download and create the gpartiton live cd; it is my favorite partitoning tool and its free.
Submit some more data and I'll reply.
Have a wonderful day,
Chooch
