Problems installing Solaris 10 on Blade 2000 with XVR-1000

I am experiencing problems installing Solaris 10 on Blade 2000 with XVR-1000 graphic board.

The card passes PROM test

The DVD isn't working so I am installing through network.

I can install only on text mode (ok boot net - nowin). - install and - text options fails to load graphic enviroment.

After installing and rebboting the X server did not start.

The monitor shuts down after the loading CDE message.

Any clues?

dear Castillabr,

I had the same problem with the installation DVD won't work, it seems the reason is the DVD-ROM in Sun Blade workstations is not good at reading burned DVDs nowadays.

So, my solution is to change the original one in workstation to a general DVD-ROM in the market, and remember, set the jumping behind the ROM to the master, not slave, or the OpenBoot will take it to be a contradiction of device ID.
