Can you avoid bootp stuff when booting a CD/DVD?

Is it possible to skip the attempted autoconfiguration of network interfaces when booting from a CD or DVD?If a server has many interfaces, it can spend considerable time trying to configure each one. Pain in the rear when you just want to boot single user.Thanks,Mark
