proc files

Hello,

The proc files are causing problems for Disk Analyzer and File Manager on Solaris 10.It seems they are being read in a continuous loop. For example: in file manager, I click /proc folder then I can click /0, then /cwd, then /proc, then /0, then /cwd etc....In Disk Analyer will continuously be retrieving information about the /proc folder without concluding.

I believe this may be causing problems for disk management in Solaris management Console as this disk is reported as having non Solaris partition, negative space remaining, and overlapping partitions.

All this after a trouble free install of Solaris 10 on a checked IBM or Fujitsu hdd. (AMD +2600 chip, ASUS A7V8X mb)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You,

RT

Please do a "man -s4 proc".But the question is, what are you trying to achieve by running disk analyzer on /proc file system (memory based pseudo file system)?

Giri,

I guess I'm really just trying to get disk management to work on my hdd. So I went to disk analyzer to see what it told me.

Being new to Solaris, I was a little confused that psuedo files are shown next to disk files in file management.

I'll probably repost my question under disk management.

Thanks
