'Java 6' for Mac OS X ?

Hi All, can't seem to find any offical info, so thought I'd ask here.

I'm developing a Java application, and although most users will be using Windows, a few linux users, and hopefully some Mac users, the program will require Java 6 for OS X.

Is this going to be released at the same time as panther, and will there be a version for Tiger? Also, is there a Java 6 beta that my beta testers can download, just to see if things work?

Why can't Sun make java for mac so that mac users get to keep up with the other platforms?

Version 1.5.0_07 is the standard Java version from Apple presently. Work on 1.6 is going on. If you are a member of ADC you can always download and test the beta version for the same. For detailed information check at: http://developer.apple.com/java/
