One way would be to have your Javascript invoke a servlet

> calling a java aplication from javascriptYou can interact between javascript and applets I believe, but you can't "call" java programs from javascript. They're both run by the browser.

You can achieve simple interaction with an hidden frame acting as a bridge between Javascript and a Java Applet.See http://www.rgagnon.com/javadetails/java-0184.htmlBye.-- http://www.rgagnon.com/howto.html

> calling a java aplication from javascriptDo you mean a (server-side) web application? Or do you mean a Java applet? Or do you mean something else?

well actually i gotta make a virutal world in vrml and "comunicate" it with the real one. i thought of using an easy javascript within the wrl file and then making all the comunications with java, like sockets and so.

so i gotta "connect" vrml-->javascript-->java and back.

i hope you understand, :)

I understand. I understand that your original question was completely irrelevant. You've got a vague but massively-scoped requirement, made a stab in the dark about one tiny implementation detail that may or may not be appropriate, and expected to start getting help through that back door, before revealing this uber-plan and hoping someone would be able to help with that, too

Is the VRML being run in a web browser, or what?
