I'm completely lost with what to do at this point. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I know almost nothing at this point, but do you have an option of upgrading your version of java ? They may have fixed the issue you are encountering. I know you may not be able to for many reasons, but thought I would throw it out as a possibility. You might even want to try it for testing purposes.

Here's Sun's TS document: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5/pdf/jdk50_ts_guide.pdf

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately I can't update these servers with the latest Java due to the fact that Adapt won't support the application on anything higher than 1.5.0_11. I'm going to plug away at this and try and reproduce this error and see if the application event log generates anything new.

thanks again. Any and all ideas are always welcome.

So people are opening browsers in a Citrix session and trying to access the applet? And the failure occurs in the browser?

This generally indicates that native code had a bad pointer, which tried to access code outside the process bounds.

And this indicates that the problem is happening somewhere in code that's part of the JRE -- more correctly, part of the Sun Java plugin that most browsers use to run Java applets.

So, some things to try: first, install the same JRE on a non-Citrix workstation (using a clean install from Sun), and see if the problem still happens. If it does, you'll probably have to upgrade whether you like it or not. You can search the BugParade with a few of the keywords from your stack trace, to see if it's a known issue: http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/

If it works fine on the test desktop, then it's probably a problem with the Java installation on your Citrix box. Reinstall.

One other question: this isn't a signed applet that relies on a native library, is it? That makes the problem much harder to resolve, as it could be a bug in the native library corrupting the stack, which only much later shows up in your code.
