One can only hope that what's in those images gets done to him--against his will for a change, and with the addition of jumper cables, hydroflouric acid, and molten sand.

On a positive note, I've rekindled my appreciation for the Lynx web browser. :o)

My guess is that they accidentally enabled HTML support in the process of disabling [url][/url] tags and auto-linkification of URLs. Like trying to put out a fire, only to discover that your water bucket is full of gasoline. Around here, all the buckets seem to be filled with petrol.

My suspicion is that they've got the logic to interpret url tags implemented in the same module as the logic to discard HTML. I've played around a bit with Jive a while back, and you can add custom filters to it. So if they had a new filter they wanted to apply they could add it and then delete the old one, or they could delete the old one and then add the new one. The latter provides a brief window of "anything goes".

It pisses me off that these are all bugs and problems that we've encountered before, but because they have no automated regression testing (only a regression testing script) they tend to reintroduce old bugs pretty much every time they make a change.

In short it's incompetence.

Alright, at least they did something -.-"I'm still quite reserved on this issue for any similar incident in the future.
