Communications Suite 5 dependency on SJS Message Queue
Installation of Messaging Server 6.3 automatically selects and requires installation of SJS Java Message Queue. The Installation Guide states that Messaging Server requires Java Message Queue. However, the Messaging Server Admin guide does not mention JMQ. The only mention of JMQ I can find is in the calendar server documentation, where it says that calendar server supports JMQ for event notification, but it is not part of the default alarms and notification system.
What is the dependency of MS6.3 on JMQ? Where is this documented?
Thanks

Hi,
Just adding to what Jay has said already, the current ENS (enpd) event notification system is deprecated and should be gone by the next release (we still require it for imap-idle in 6.3).
In its place Messaging Server (and calendar server) are now using JMQ (java message queue) which provides much better vertical scaling etc. Basically its designed for the job of handing the events that we produce with better debugging and event handling capabilities - so why re-invent the wheel.
Chapter 22 of the Messaging Server 6.3 Administration Guide documents the configuration of the JMQ notification plugin for messaging server.
Regards,
Shane.
