Automatic Login To Java Forums

Hi. Maybe through "mass action" we may prompt Sun Microsystems to add a feature in these fora that implements automatic loggin in. I sometimes feel lazy putting in my username and password every time I want to log in. Cant they put the checkbox "Remember me"?ARTHUR

It has been suggested many, many times before.

Most web browsers will do this for you.

I wonder from your post count whether you've ever witnessed one of Sun's "user experience enhancification" events. They're not pretty. While there's much to be fixed, there's still much that hasn't been broken yet. Perhaps it would be best if they just leave things alone.

Back in the time of the dinosaurs this was a feature of the site. It was removed to enrich the user experience.

wasn't it in the time before Llamas?

Such things were I guess considered a potential security risk as Sun initiated single signon and your login can now also be used to access other parts of the Sun online presence, some of which can cost you money.

Not sure, but that's a good reason to disable such things (and bring on session timeouts which seem to be partially effective here).
