Apache tomcat 5.5 service wont start

When I start tomcat on my pc with the lan cable disconnected it starts normally.

When I start the same with lan connected it wont start and bind to a port.

I have already tried changing the port which tomcat listens on with no results I must have tried over 50 different ports.

The operating system is windows XP

If anyone encountered a similar problem help would be greatly appreciated
