simple, fast db ?

Hello,

I'm writing some sort of program, witch must work fast with over 3k line records. I'm was interested in dll's, but this fing is win stuff, and I don't like win, so now I'm confused.. Like I want some sort of database, witch do not need to install, just like txt, o xml, but faster.. More faster..
