An Enterprise Manager Security Gateway Login Problem.

Hi all, i am new to the Jcaps,

Once i login to the Enterprise Manager Security Geteway,

http://localhost:15100

User ID: Administrator

Password: STC

Then, it only shows the following message,

"Login successful.

Click here to access the service you requested. "

If i want to deploy the EAR file, am I in the correct console? And nothing i can do in this page. Any comments? Please help...

Hi Carlos,

from eManager you can deploy your EAR packages :

* click on the explorer on the left of the screen on "J2EE"

* click on the tab Deploy Applications on the right of the screen

you can select there the package to deploy and the logicalhost where to deploy it.

IMO I prefer deploying my projects directly from the eDesigner whenever I can, its more easy.

Thanks your reply, ^^

but my major problem is, i can login to the eManager, but nothing display in the console. The page is not the same as i read the book, once i login to the eManager, it only shows:

"Login successful.

Click here to access the service you requested. "

Then, i can do nothing...

Because i read the book, it has a console as you mention, i can deploy the EAR packages.

Thanks a lot ;-)

Hi Carlos, are you sure you use the correct port. If you haven't changed the port it should be 15000 to access the Enterprise Manager.GreetzFabian

I suppose you tried restarting the eManager service?

I remember once it bugged, and when I logged on the login screen It just showed a page saying 'Redirecting to the page requested in 5 secs or click here to open it now' (or something like that) but was always redirecting me to the login screen again [using 5.1.2] but restarting server make it run fine again.

Which version are you using? Are you using LDAP or another user validation on eManager?

I suppose you dont have access to Sun private access for JCAPS hotfixes/help, so try looking at logs from emanager:

%JCAPS_DIRECTORY%/emanager/server/logs/

gl :)

Thanks for your reply. ^^

I followed the installation handbook, then i changed the port to 15100, but it works. And i found that the log shows: (just now)

2007-06-12 16:17:03 StandardContext[/balancer]org.apache.webapp.balancer.BalancerFilter: init(): ruleChain: [org.apache.webapp.balancer.RuleChain: [org.apache.webapp.balancer.rules.URLStringMatchRule: Target string: News / Redirect URL: http://www.cnn.com], [org.apache.webapp.balancer.rules.RequestParameterRule: Target param name: paramName / Target param value: paramValue / Redirect URL: http://www.yahoo.com], [org.apache.webapp.balancer.rules.AcceptEverythingRule: Redirect URL: http://jakarta.apache.org]]

It seems that nothing wrong. How come my eManager console only shows these two sentences?

"Login successful.

Click here to access the service you requested. "

I really want to know, does it have another login id and password for me to login?

Thanks a lot.. :)

The version of the JCAPS that i am using is 5.1.2, i can login to different console, such as:

http://localhost:18000(the integration server administration)

http://localhost:12000(the JCAPS suite installer)

http://localhost:15100(Only two sentences display: Login successful.

Click here to access the service you requested)

so, am I correct?

You did try to click on "Click here" but nothing happened, right? What browser you use? What platform is eManager installed on? You changed the port of eManager during installation or later by changing configuration?

I can solve the problem now... it is because the I.E. problem, just now, I download the FireFox and I use the fireFox to access the eManager. It seems all the things can display properly.haha... how come the eManger doesn't support the I.E?Thanks all of you ^.^

it might be probably related to DNS settings, solvable via emanager\server\conf\monitor.properties > hostnameBut you'll probably need to allow the eManager's machine name in IE's proxy settings.Good luckPaul

Did you try to use something other than localhost. for example - <your IP address>:15100 or <your machine name>:15100. That should negate any DNS issues that you have.Joe

Was Internet Explorer configured to use a proxy (either explicitly configured or via automatic configuration)? I've seen some implementations where the proxy was used for all (including local) addresses. This caused some weird things to happen with Java CAPS.

The default installation of FireFox doesn't assume a proxy, which may explain your improved luck. Unfortunately, not everything in Java CAPS works properly with FireFox . . .
