SCJA / SCJP Certification

Hi folks

I am new to java, and I have shallow knowledge in Java Language, planning to do SCJP certification?and I heard SCAJ should be completed only then I could do SCJP, is that right?

Do you guys suggest me what are the preparation & guidelines do I need to follow for the certification?

And I am looking for certification materials ?

There is no prerequests for SCJP SCJA is good starting point if you newbie in Java Language
