SunMC 3.6.1 - Hardware Diagnostic Suite not available

Hi all,

I cannot view or run the Hardware Diagnostic Suite on any of the servers that are being monitored. It does not show up under applications on the servers details.

I have recently installed SunMC 3.6.1 on a freshly installed Solaris 10 server. I have installed it with most 'addons' including Advanced System Monitoring (ASM). I am able to load the HDS module sucessfully on the agent and server side and it shows up in the Module Browser and Module Manager section as loaded.

As a bit of a last resort I have run the /opt/SUNWsymon/addons/AdvancedMonitoring/sbin/start-diag script and it came back with "Hardware Diagnostic Suite Server Start Procedure

Hardware Diagnostic Suite Server started OK" but it is still unavailable from the 'applications' tab.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance

Neil

Not yet. Everything else seems to be working fine apart from the Hardware Diagnostic Suite.

After a little help from Halcyon Inc. I got there.

They suggested running a script, specifically "/opt/SUNWsymon/addons/AdvancedMonitoring/sbin/hwds-setup.sh"

This ran and went straight back to the prompt, with no output to the screen or any logs that I could see.

I had a look through this script and found that the console-host-apps.cfg file was not being created so I found the appropraite line in the script and inserted my own settings and ran the one line. Also, I ran the es-apps script afterwards and now all is working.

Hope this helps others with a T2000.
