Problem with Sun GDM 90W10 monitor
I have used my Sun 90W10 monitor for 6-7 years and I have been very pleased with it. Now I have noticed that there is several lines that go horizontaly across the monitor(not Trinitron damper wires). Actually these lines are composition of red-green-blue lines and when I adjusts color adjustment(R Bias, R Gain etc) to zero, those lines fade out but are still visible(only on dark background).
There is service port at the back of the monitor but where can get cable and software if I want to try that. Is the anything that I can do with this problem or should I just gently carry my precious(not only that it costed about 4000$) monitor to the recycling center.

I feel your `pain`.
Though I prefer a CRT so very much more than today's crop of flat panel monitors,
it may finally be time to give that beast its memorial service.

If by any chance the computer has coverage by a Sun service contract,
then the monitor is covered as an essential functional peripheral of that computer.
You could then get Sun to ship a replacement to you.
Lacking that, say goodbye to it and give it a fond farewell.

Sounds like a brightness problem if i am correct?
If so then it usualy is done by a simple G2 modification to town down the brightness with a resistor pulled to mass. should cost allot less then $400.
Or if you can find one on ebay or somewhere else then you might want to go with that if it aint to exspensive.
