Keyboard Setting for Solaris Express, Developer Edition 2/07

Folks'es,

I managed to install the Solaris Express DE 2/07 on my system and everything works just fine. Except for one major thing, and that is the keyboard mapping/recoginition.

I have a German keyboard and all my locale settings are set to de_DE.ISO8859-1 but the keyboard still behaves like a a QWERTY keyboard and not a QWERTZ.

Can anybody shed some light, as to what the cause of the problem could be and how I could solve it.

PS: it is a USB keyboard

PPS: unfortunately the link in http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=841&threadID=5081775 which points to the solution is broken :(
