How to manually install the Solaris Patch SunOS 5.10_x86: Kernel Patch ?

download the patch from sunsolve.
unzip it
patchadd <patchnumber>
reboot immediately.
The recommended procedure is to do it with the machine in single user mode.
But usually making the machine as quiescent as possible eg killing of daemons and runnin g jobs is sufficient.
