Solaris 10/Vista Workstation

I'm a mechanical engineer student and I'd like to set up a workstation with Solaris 10 and Pro/Engineer 3D CAD. But, for practical reasons, I can't discard Windows Vista x64 that I already have on my machine. The thing is, I don't know much about setting up dual boot with Vista and Solaris 10. I found many articles about how to do it with Solaris Express and OpenSolaris but not with Solaris 10. And does Solaris 10 works on 64bits? The DVD file says Solaris 10 x86, is the x64 version in the same DVD?

Check out the following blog and the related ones on how to do this. http://blogs.sun.com/robgibson/Best to use Vista to partition the hard drive.

Forgot to add this:

x86 and x64 architecture are both delivered on the same DVD. Note that while the kernel can run in 64 bit more, not all the applications need to. BTW, I would first check and see how well your workstation is supported. Typically support for hardware is significantly better in Solaris Express releases, esp. in terms of wifi.

I've downloaded Solaris Express but how do I create the DVD with the 3 files in Windows?By the way, since Solaris Express has Linux Kernel will CATIA and other aplications made for solaris run on Solaris Express?

What 3 files?

Generally you get a .iso, and you use DVD burner software to put it onto a disk. Something like Nero can create a disk from an image (that's what the .iso file is).

Solaris Express does not have a Linux Kernel. What makes you think that is true?

(I'm not sure what the Linux kernel part has to do with this question). Solaris Express is a distribution of the next version of solaris, still under development. It probably has new features and new bugs not in the production version of Solaris. However, binary compatibility is expected to be very good.
