Change Hosts and IP ?!

Hi,

I tried to modify the file in /etc/hosts and I changed the host name and IP address.

However, it does not work. It will automatically added a line by DHCP.

Here it is:

127.0.0.1localhost

192.168.17.10 Solaris10#I added

192.168.17.34 unknown# Added by DHCP

How can I remove the 192.168.17.34.....

Also, I tried to follow some forum to change the file in /etc/nodename but no this file... how ?

Please advise.

Thanks.

How to change hostname on Solaris

Change hostname manually in the following files:

/etc/nodename

/etc/inet/hosts

/etc/hostname.le0 or hostname.hme0 or an equivalent file

/etc/net/ticlts/hosts

/etc/net/ticots/hosts

/etc/net/ticotsord/hosts

/etc/inet/ipnodes (if file exists and if hostname entry exists)

After modifying the above files, reboot the system.
