TapeStor Travan USB

Hello,

A TapeStor Travan USB tape drive is reported to work on Solaris 10 x86

as per HCL.

But I don't have a clue how to make it work. The device is attached to my

computer and shows up in a "cfgadm" command (USB0/2):

# cfgadm -al

Ap_Id Type ReceptacleOccupantCondition

usb0/1 unknownemptyunconfigured ok

usb0/2 usb-deviceconnectedconfiguredok

My /dev/rmt directory is empty.

Can anyone help?

Much obliged!

Have you done a touch /reconfigure or reboot -- -r to configure the new device and create device nodes (while the tape is connected) ?If it is detected and supported after a reconfigure boot the tape should show up in /dev/rmt .

Yes, thank you, I have tried touch /reconfigure then reboot.

The startup messages indicated "Configuring devices".

However, still nothing in /dev/rmt

Can I assume my device is not supported then? It *is*

a TapeStor Travan USB drive albeit one of the first 4 /8 GB

drives.

Thanks again.
