Question on Solaris 10
Hi,
I am a new beginner of Solaris 10. I just installed the Solaris 10 on the x86 PC and everything fine. However, I discovered that the system shown 'Sun Java Desktop System for Solaris'.
I would like to have a Solaris in server version instead of desktop version. Is it something wrong ? Is it different ?
Please advise.
Thanks.
Regards,
Dick Wong

In the future, do not post the same question to multiple forums.

It is bad forum manners.
Your answer happens to be in that other thread.
The usage of the word "desktop" means whatever is displayed on your screen.
Your screen sits on the top of your desk. Therefore the GUI is a "desktop".
" Desktop " has absolutely nothing to do with `server` or `client`.
A server can run with a graphical user interface or it can run command-line interface.
A client system can run with a graphical user interface or it can run with a command-line interface.
