That will happen if your network devices are not supported by any of the drivers on the system. What is your network card that you're using? You might need a third-party driver to support it.-- Darren

Hello my network card is : ADMtek ADM983 Linksys Etherfast 10/100

Is there a third party driver for this card ?

If yes is it hard to install ? Is there a GOOD detailed procedure that i can follow ?

Have you searched the Solaris Hardware Compatibility List ( the "HCL " ) ?

http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/

.. using the text search field, it took me two seconds to get to:

http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/data/components/details/107.html

It appears there's a half-hearted third party driver out there.

Yes, you're going to have to tweak some system device instance files to get it to work.

Considering how inexpensive network cards are,

just replace it with something that is natively supported by the OS.

Examples would be the 3COM 3C905 family of cards or the Intel PRO/100 family of cards.
