Sun Fire x4100 no video signal

Hi everybody,

I have to install Windows 2003 Server on two Sun Fire x4100. I read in the documentation that I just have to plugin a monitor and a USB Keyboard and then it should show me the POST and I can access to the BIOS.

The Problem is that I don't get a video signal from the Sun machine. The same with the second machine.

I have never worked with a Sun Fire x4100 before and the other problem is that another guy has preconfigured the two machines. I know this are few details, but I also don't have more informations.

I hope someone can give me a hint what to do.

Ok,

I solved the problem, I started a hyperterminal, logged in as root and executed the command /SP/console.

After a reboot I saw the POST and so on.

But now I have another problem:

I inserted the Windows 2003 32-Bit Server CD in the CD ROM drive and set the first boot device to CD ROM. I tried it several times, but the CD gets not identified and I only get a screen, where I can select one of three Solaris 10 Versions (normal, safe, VGA)

Sorry for my stupid questions, but I am complete new inthis field.

Did you press "any" key before you see the grub?
