Sun Enterprise 250 lock issue
There is an old SUN Enterprise 250 box just sitting in the corner of our network laboratory and no key to turn the lock. I was just wondering if I had to go to all the trouble of taking the system apart or if there was an easier way to pick the key module. This thing has been sitting around and has not been turned on for who knows how long. From what I herd the last IT guy took off with it...
Thanks,
Bryce

The E250 keyswitch is much more than a mechanical latch for the door.
As you already know, it's needed to power it up and shut it down.
The same key was used in E250, E450, 220R, 280R, and 420R systems.
If you have any of those in the building, use their key.
Other options could be your favorite corner locksmith, else Ebay.
With a Sun support contract, you can get a replacement for your "broken" key.
Without a support contract, the price from Sun is deliberately prohibitive.

The part number for the key == 250-1317
