everytime i try to install Java, this messege appears: "This installation package could not be open. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer Package"
Can u plz explain in simple words what is that mean and how can i avoid this error message?
Are you attempting to install using an online installer (possibly from the java.com website)?
If so, there may be a problem with your computer's Microsoft Installer function. (Java uses it to install in Windows.) Try an offline install of Java from the following website.
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Offline installs download all of Java, including a new copy of the MS Installer. Then you click the downloaded file to start the install.
Need to create Java programs? You'll want the JDK 6u1 package. Just want to run existing Java programs? You can do that with the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u1.
