java blues

I run a stock monitoring program from my home office but recently I am not able to run it. I try to start the app and I get one of two different errors. "Runtime Environment cannot be loaded" or " Several Java Virtual Machines running in the same process caused an error."

I have attempted to install/remove/reinstall JRE 6u1 several times both automatic and manual downloads but no joy. I have even ensured that there are no remnants left by checking my registry. I have also made sure that the browser configs are all correct both in the java consol and in my browser. Now I can't even get previous versions to run properly. Verification always fails. Is this a problem with anyone else?

I am running IE7 on XP Pro SP2. please! If ANYONE can help me...This is costing me a fortune!

Do you have QuickTime installed on your machine ?

If so, remove th QTime.zip from your path environment variable.

Take a look at JDK_DIRECTORY/jre/lib/ext/ to see if QTime.zip is there then remove it. (where JDK_DIRECTORY is the jdk installation directory)

HOPE THAT HELPS
