Why isn't JRE 1.5.0_12-b03 available for download yet?

Hi forum

We have been eagerly awaiting JRE 1.5.0_12 for a long time, because reports indicated, that a critical bug for us should have been fixed finally. The same reports indicated a release date of May 8th, which now has passed.

The official site for 1.5.0 here at Sun:

http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp

doesn抰 list it yet, however, you can apparently download it from Sun here:

http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=11230

For reference, you can find the above download link by a simple Google search...

I have tested the above download and can conclude, that the mentioned bug has been fixed. What I'm just wondering a lot is... this release looks to me as a 100% official release, there's no sign of "beta" or "prerelease" or anything anywhere - but why isn't it available on the official site yet then - and when will it be?

Can somebody from Sun please shed some light over this?

Thanks,

Jacob

I have no idea where that link came from...

but I would caution using a download URL that's not provided by the official

site. The product could be in testing phase so all bits are subject to

change (i.e. bugs can be found during final testing and they may rev the

build again) until the last push.

Sun is pretty good with pushing releases onto the official site, so it may be

just a bit longer.
