SDK Help

Hi everyone, I will be working on a new JSP/JSF project at work and want to get my system set up for it. I am currently on a Mac using OS X and have Java version 1.5.0_07.

I need to upgrade to SDK 1.6 - do I need to uninstall the current SDK? Or can I just install 1.6 over it?

Also - if at the command prompt I view the java vesion "java -version" is that synonymous with the SDK version installed?

Thanks everyone.

As far as I am aware Java6 has not been released on OS X yet. There may be a developer beta release available on developer.apple.com, but that will require registration, and is usually covered under NDA.

You can install as many different versions of Java as you like on your computer. You aren't limited to one. So "the SDK version installed" is a meaningless phrase.
