Javascript hyperlinks do not work

In an effort to free up disk space, I removed some of the Java updates, the oldest ones, via Add/Remove Programs in WinXP and did not delete J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11 or environment 6 update 1, Since then, javascript hyperlinks often don't work and some web pages have not been loading correctly. Going to the Java download page tells me that I already have the latest update installed and I was hoping to reinstall. Does anyone have any advice for me? Thanks.

Please go away. You already asked this question, which does not belong here anyway, yesterday and got several clear answers.

Java != JavaScript

They have similar names, and somewhat similar semantics, but thats all. Find a JavaScript forum, and you have uninstalled/installed/reinstalled your java environment for no reason, due to a misinterpretation of two names which are not the same.
