HTML Mails bodies "not found" after 120228-20

Hi,

After install the 120228-20 patch and fix ALL the new files, when the clients try to read e-mails with HTML bodies, do not show anything, only "Not found" message in the body frame.

The text-plain e-mails can be read without problem, download attachments, etc...

Anybody can help me? Any ideas?

Hi,Haven't heard of this problem - but it is a really new patch.Is the problem in both WebMail and UWC?What client is generating the emails which can't be read?Regards,Shane.

I'm so sorry, because I post my question without full information:

The problem is only using Sun Java Messenger Express (the old and deprecated version).

Occurs after patch the system with 120228-20. All the post-patch instructions was followed.

The version info after imsimta version is:

Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.3-1.04 (built May 9 2007; 32bit)

libimta.so 6.3-1.04 (built 00:41:36, May 9 2007; 32bit)

SunOS umbriel 5.10 Generic_125100-08 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V240

We do not have the Communications Express, due we will have to upgrade everything: Directory Server, Applications Server and Calendar Server. We are planning to upgrade in a close future, but, meanwhile we finish the upgrade processes, our users do not have webmail access.

Looking in the logs, do not show any information...

All the other mail services (IMAP, POP3 and SMTP) are working well.

Any Idea?

It always helps for you to answer ALL the questions:

What client is generating the emails which can't be read?

Also worthwhile knowing what browser you're accessing webmail with.

A side note:

You don't have to use UWC to access your old calendar servers. UWC doesn't depend on that, nor on the other things you've not upgraded, yet.

The client application who send the e-mails: Several! Outlook, Thunderbird, iMail, etc...

Browser: I tested with Firefox and Mozilla in MacOS, Solaris and WIndows XP, Safari for MacOS, and Internet Explorer 7 for WIndows XP.

The problem is not in the client side:

Looking the body frame source code, it says:

function color(s) { if (s) document.bgColor=s }

document.domain=document.domain

</script><body>Not found

</body></html>

So, the Not found content was generated in the server side.

Hi,

You may want to enable debug logging on your mshttpd daemon process and then see whether there are any errors or what-not accessing the html 'attachment'. Basically look around the logs at the time you access the email which won't display e.g.

To enable debug logging:

./configutil -o logfile.http.loglevel -v Debug

./refresh http

Also try the same for the imap process, see if there are any errors at this level. Remember the mshttpd process now talks to the imapd process to get access to the store.

I set the debug logging enable for HTTP and IMAP process, but do not indicate anything!!

The new procedure for the Messaging to connect to IMAP server to download information is working, due we can read plain e-mails...

I will sniff the traffic between http server and imap server to try to observe any kind of information, but I am loosing the hope :'(

Will be easier upgrade to the next version and pray for it works....
