Header Address Rewriting

Hi everyone,

i'm runnning Messagging 6.3 and every time i send a message to a user alias (mailalternateaddress), the header address is rewritten with the "mail" attribute value of the user.

I suppose it's the normal behavior.

Is there a way to avoid it?

is there a way to configure Messaging to not rewrite "To:" header address and leave it as is.

Yes and it has been for many versions.

Simple, use mailequivalentaddress: instead. It's pretty much the same except it doesn't get rewritten back to the mail: attribute value.

You could change the default behaviour but I wouldn't recommend it. Best to use the facility in place specifically designed for you goal .. namely mailequivalentaddress:
