Can someone plz explain to me how to write a shell script to check date? Thanx
1) Why are you asking about shell scripts on a Java forum.2) What do you mean "check date"? That requirement contains almos zero information.

Questions about shell scripts don't belong here, end of story. People like jverd give their time of their own free will to help people out, they have every right to try and stop people polluting the boards with inappropriate questions.

You still don't get it. This is a public forum. You don't get to ask for people's comments, people are free to comment on whatever they like. And if you go around making yourself smell like ****, don't be surprised if people comment on that.

The thing is, I'd have probably helped you if you'd given a ******* reason but been polite, like "I know it doesn't belong here, but I couldn't find a good unix forum," or something.

I know but I thought I'd give it anyway because I'm sick of kids like you copping the big attitude because they're tucked away safely behind a keyboard and throwing big tantrums because the real world isn't arranged quite the way you feel you're entitled to have it.
