JavaFX! (where the hell have i been?)

A reddit link contained the word JavaFX (which ive never even heard

before) and aside from "where the hell have i been" i had a lot of

questions and tracked down the official site.

Ive always wanted a "better than an applet" capability for Java

for websites. Applets are abysmal. Webstart is great but our Java apps

shouldnt have to jump off the screen and be downloaded - they

should be smoothly integrated like Flash.

This sounds promising but the FAQs dont do much to quell my

very serious doubts about it. Namely:

- Why did you create another scripting language?

- Why isn't Groovy enough?

Are the forums getting a JavaFX subsection soon?

(btw, i did a forum search for JavaFX before i posted this which yielded one unrelated result so i hope im not repeating an old topic)
