ds 5.2 sp4 referral url

I have setup an ldap replication with 2 masters, 4 hubs and 8 replicas. All replicas are for read only. When I configure the env, I taken the default referral setting, i.e. the referral to master over ldap on port 389.

Now, I want to setup the referral to use ldaps. I followed the [Advanced Consumer Configuration section] of the doc http://docs.sun.com/source/817-5221/replicat.html

"# On the Optional tab of the Advanced Replica Settings dialog, the list of LDAP URLs specifies additional referrals for modification requests sent to this consumer. Use the Add or Delete buttons to create a list of LDAP URLs."

However, whenever I click on save, it prompted operation error. Would appreciate if you can shed some light on what's the possible cause of the error or provide me the exact step to overwrite the default referral url.
