DSEE6 and setup for Solaris 10

I've recently decided to move my nis+ system to LDAP and I've

chosen the latest version of Directory server EE 6. I've gotten to

the point where the directory server is up and running and I can

access the DSCC and the ability to create a new directory server.

I tried creating a standard directory server, but I don't think that that's

what I want.

I've seen 2 different references to creating the structure for Solaris 10

but both have failed.

1) in the System Administration Guide: Naming and Directory Services

(DNS, NIS, and LDAP) it makes reference to idsconfig and when run it

says it's not compatible with this new version of Directory Server.

2) In the Evaluation Guide for DSEE6 it makes reference to a downloadable

kit to setup zones (I think this is what I need),

however in searching for it I came across a forum entry where the Sun

engineers haven't finished/posted it.

Is there something else that I haven't come across that will setup a empty

directory server for this that works with the new DSEE6 for serving a

Solaris 10 domain?

Thanks,

Guy

There is a Sun document out there somewhere ( I forget where ) that states you need to edit the idsconfig script and change the major version identifier from 5 to 6.

That worked great.... now I can continue.I'm assuming that the idsconfigscript is actually compatible with DSEE6. Guess we'll find out. Thanks again,Guy

It worked fine for me.

Here's the original sun document that I found regarding the hack on idsconfig. I didn't realize at the time that it was in such an odd location.

Sun person's blog which also covers how to handle the VLV indexes with the new dsadm command.
