A few NewBee Questions
The JRE 1.4.2_07 plugin shipped with enterprise software we bought (Maximo).
First, can I safely upgrade (through the control panel in Windows Server 2003) to a later version of the JRE, which may have fixes? I don't want it to break Maximo 6
Second, if I upgrade to a newer version of the JRE , can I backup the existing version by simply copying the JVM/JRE directory? Or should I image the entire drive on which the JRE is installed? More importantly, can I roll back, once the upgrade of the JRE is complete?
Third, most cmd scripts set environment variables like JAVA_HOME, MEM_ARGS, etc.. Can I simply set these as system environment variables?

Why ask us? Shouldn't you ask the company?

Backing up your old version of java is not that simple.
