ATR parse info

Hello, where can I find more information about ATR (e.g. how JCOP tools parses ATR )?

I want to know the components of it and find out, what useful information besides protocol, historical bytes (of card, I guess) can i get from it. Also i would like to know max / min length of ATR.

Thanks,

Best regards,

Eve.

The ATR is defined in ISO/IEC 7816-3 which you can buy from the ISO Online Web Store. Some free information can be found here: http://www.cardwerk.com/smartcards/smartcard_standard_ISO7816-3.aspx

I recommend you to take a look at the book "SmartCard Handbook" ( http://www.ebookmall.com/ebook/135830-ebook.htm)You may also look the "Java Card (tm) Technology for Smart Cards: Architecture and Programmer's" ( http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0201703297 )-- Igor

I have already got the second book you offer. There haven't been as many optimization advices, as i expected. Mostly information just copied from Java Card SDK JCVM and other specifications.

The first one is rather expensive. So i don't think, i will be able to get it.

But thanks for your advice anyway.

Best regards,

Eve
