patchset differences between current and sfv445/sfv2x5

Hi everyone,

I am wondering about the differences between the patchpro.patchsets. When I use patchpro.patchset=current smpatch analyze gives me 69 available patches. In contrast, using smpatch analyze with patchpro.patchset=sfv2x5 results in "No patches required".

As far as I knew sfv2x5 and sfv445 is equivalent to the recommended patchset (patchpro.patchset=recommended does not work on Solaris 10).

Shouldn't I get at least a few available patches with patchset sfv2x5?

Our smpatch configuration is as follows on a SUN Fire V215:

patchpro.backout.directory-""

patchpro.baseline.directory-/var/sadm/spool

patchpro.download.directory-/var/sadm/spool

patchpro.install.types -rebootafter:reconfigafter:standard

patchpro.patch.source-https://getupdates1.sun.com/

patchpro.patchset-current

patchpro.proxy.host -""

patchpro.proxy.passwd********

patchpro.proxy.port -8080

patchpro.proxy.user -""

Could anybody be so kind to supply me recommendations for the smpatch utitlity setup?

Thank you very much in advance!!

Regards,

Juergen

To the best of my knowledge, at present the "current" patchset should be used for all Solaris 10 systems.

The older versions patchdb, patchdb1 and recommended are only for use on Solaris 8 and 9 systems.

Where platform specific patchsets are available, they only contain patches that are specifically for those platforms. I hope this clarifies the use of patchsets for you.
