Creating an Alias for URL's to access the JCAPS tools.

Has anyone determined a way to create an Alias to the access the various tools under JCAPS, so that you do not need to remember server host names and port numbers?

Example: http://[Server Name]:12000 to access the Suite Installer, or http://[Server Name]:18000 to access the Integration Server Administration, or http://[Server Name]:15000 to access the Enterprise Manager.

We host two repositories, and at this time, 4 Enterprise Managers, and several domains. This can get very confusing.

My network team is looking at options in DNS, but they believe the port number reference will prevent them from doing anything.

Support has recommended deploying a reverse proxy, but my network team is not exactly sure at this time how that would be done.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think you can try using JCAPS variables/constants. From project folder you can select New -> Variable or Constant... and define a variable so you can use that variable on components definitions, like the URL to connect. When you deploy the application you will have to set a value for that variable.
